ABSTRACT

The concept of perception is understood to be a process of information assimilation or processing utilized by an individual to obtain insight into themselves and their environment. Business professionals are increasingly recognizing the relevance of perception as a topic, and they have been attempting to utilize the insights gleaned from it toward achieving their goals. The human perceptual process is made up of three components: a physical or chemical component; a physiological component; a psychological component. The body's sensory cells have to convert foreign physical and/or chemical stimuli into endogenous physiological impulses. Items of information come into contact with our sensory organs in the form of stimuli, like electromagnetic waves, mechanical vibrations, or chemical changes. In science the effect of a stimulus or the effect of activation on a person's performance is demonstrated by the Lamda-Hypothesis. The 'Lamda-Hypothesis', empirically substantiated up to a reversal point, states that with increasing intensity of activation, or of a stimulus, an individual's performance increases.
