ABSTRACT

The contribution of this chapter is to introduce a powerful tool of analysis that is sustainable over the long term. This tool is rooted in cybernetics sciences. The complexity of strategic problems as all things hang together, when driving for instance a risk analysis in project management, and the need to resolve them collectively, force us to use methods that are rigorous and participatory as much as possible so as first, to recognize the problem and second, find acceptable and sustainable solutions. Most of the time, systems, like in risk management, are modelled by using a large number of variables, therefore it is impossible even for a bright human brain to understand the complexity of the relationship (direct and indirect) among all the variables. This tool not only makes it possible to analyse these risks in all their complexity at the present time, but also enables us to recognize trends or future ruptures. In this chapter, we will concretely apply our systemic approach on the risk analysis of the Microgine® project. All details about the Microgine® project and its risks are provided in an annexe. Through the use of a mathematical analysis and software applications, many different graphics were elaborated in order to well describe our study. Of course, even if people cannot be reduced to a rational mind, as they are also driven by intuition and passion, the advantage to collectively conduct a systemic (structural) analysis will help us: to construct a common language, to enlarge our visions, to secure our decisions and finally to build team work.
