ABSTRACT
The following survey is based on a recently completed doctoral thesis on the Hungarian-Slavonian Hospitaller Priory up to 1387. 1 One of the main goals of the thesis was to investigate whether the sources justify the common scholarly assumption that the Hospitallers in Hungary performed significant military activities during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. The aim was to collect and analyse possible sources of such military activities and either to confirm this belief or to redefine it as necessary.
