ABSTRACT

Finding a meeting point between the two is no simple task, given the very diverse ideological constellations in which they found themselves. Lefebvre was a French philosopher who inspired much of contemporary neo-Marxist urban theory, Schmitt a German philosopher of law known for his dangerous relations with the early National Socialist movement but whose later political theory has influenced non-standard theories of European philosophical circles. Yet if we start deciphering their texts, we find much in common.
