ABSTRACT

This chapter confronts some of the central issues we face as humans on this planet: the nature of individual identity; how to build with integrity on a self created in past while living in the present, and to do this in such a way as to reshape ourselves for an uncertain future. It explores how to maintain hope for the future of human kind in the face of violence, force and greed. The chapter explains how to escape from determinism of an inherited Newtonian world-view, and to contribute to an emerging world-view that supports a more sustainable future for ourselves and for other species. It defines how to act on this vision to help redesign corporations so that they sustain the social and natural worlds instead of exploiting and degrading them. The chapter illustrates these issues with some of author poems markers in personal struggle of one spiritual adventurer and with organizational examples that represent the attempts of other spiritual.
