ABSTRACT

Since scholarly works on the totality of contemporary political shows in the United States are not published regularly, at least to our knowledge, we begin this collection with an overview of three sections we believe elucidate their construction and impact on the viewers: their showrunners, that is the people who conceived the central narrative arc; the proximity of their fictional stories with real events and its meaning; and the significant place female characters and female showrunners play in this specific genre.
