A user on a guitar forum posted the following comment on a thread entitled ‘Playing to an audience that isn’t listening’:
At a special lunchtime concert series or some other arts event, sure, people listen better there because that’s what they came for. But not at a bar (especially not) a restaurant. There a musician playing instrumen - tals is basically one step above the ornamental greenery.1
