ABSTRACT
The internationally agreed definition of human trafficking originates from the Protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children, that supplements the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, which the UK and the majority of countries around the world have adopted. A child is defined by the Palermo Protocol and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as any person under the age of 18.
