ABSTRACT

Poland is a new EU member state and a country that in the last two decades has undergone economic and political transitions. This has caused significant consequences for the welfare state2 development in general and for long-term care in particular. These specific institutional circumstances, for a country like Poland, need to be looked at in order to understand the current status and debate on longterm care as well as the future developments and possible reforms.
