ABSTRACT

According to Marjorie Reeves, Joachim of Fiore was not a political thinker. If in the following pages I attempt to show that political reection is not at the periphery but at the centre of Joachim’s thought, this is not to dispute the results of Marjorie Reeves’s research. I only wish to suggest that it may be possible to use the concept of ‘the political’ in another way.
