ABSTRACT

In academic literature, there is a wide variety of studies on landscape scenario approaches (Tress and Tress, 2003a). The array of these studies varies from forest planning to habitat designation, from watershed planning to the impact of land use change on biodiversity, from urban expansion to rural land use. The methods and use of technology may differ a great deal, but most of the scenario studies share some important common characteristics: they focus on visualisation and the future of developments and utilise a participatory approach.
