ABSTRACT

This chapter illustrates through practical cases, not only how the first three rounds of individual, organisational and societal development can be meaningfully integrated in theory and practice, but also how they can altogether be further actualised through an educational institution. It explores how such a new educational-developmental space can stimulate widespread innovation in and beyond the particular society in which the original development impulse was lodged. The chapter explores the natural evolutionary path points towards such a new type of educational entity. A Communiversity is a deeply contextualised research-and-education platform with a primary focus on communal learning and development, both within the institution and outside it. The agricultural minister Gumbo got personally interested in the case of Chinyika, and what was learnt from Chinyika subsequently influenced agronomic policies of the country.
