ABSTRACT

This chapter takes a look at the successful transformation of Absa Brokers in South Africa in the early years of the 21st century. Owing to pressing profitability margins and new challenging legislation, radical organizational transformation became imperative. The integral inclusive framework described in Chapter 2 was applied as roadmap to an inclusive organizational turn-around strategy that facilitated a lasting cultural change (1). The efforts of Absa Brokers to change, and the challenges that presented themselves in this regard are dealt with here. Chapter 12 continues with the story of Absa Brokers six years later. The style of the following two chapters may seem different to that of the previous two chapters. The reader is reminded that these chapters are dealing with BLUE organizational dynamics and not PURPLE as previously.
