ABSTRACT
This chapter offers an analysis of the relationship of Europe with the Persian Gulf Region (PGR) in general with some consideration given to institutional relations between the European Union (EU) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It begins with a brief and inevitably super cial historical account of Europe-PGR relations, followed by an overview of the EU and its external relations, neighbourhood and partnership programs.
