ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the personal project manager's diary that includes comments and practical advice to project managers about managing their daily routine. It also deals with managing individuals or attempting to improve team performance. The chapter focuses on professional managers who should conduct their own daily routine so that employers, subordinates and all other stakeholders get the best possible use of their time. It also discusses kick-off meetings that can take many forms depending on your type of business. Best practice is to always follow up every kick-off meeting with a documented summary of the key points and get an informal nod from everyone involved. The chapter explores that the only estimates which the teams have added are for their specific tasks. In the project management land of dreams simply totaling these numbers would result in the project budget.
