ABSTRACT
Civilian populations are increasingly exposed to different political or military conflicts in many parts of the world. Women, children and the elderly are targets of violence in war. Rape, forced recruitment of children as soldiers and destruction of means for survival are common. Houses and infrastructure are damaged.
