ABSTRACT

The location of second homes is usually connected with rural areas, but it is conditioned by different factors – both social and spatial, and also psychological and economic. At the same time, second home owners and users from outside the village are becoming an increasingly significant component of local trade and service markets and of the budgets of the rural municipalities. The degree and range of integration with the rural environment, the internalization of the needs and opportunities of the local community and the intensity of participation in rural life is of great importance (Brida, Barquet, Risso, 2010).
