ABSTRACT
The two types of design employed in the design of automobiles are industrial design and engineering design. The team approach is demonstrates in this chapter highlights the design engineer's role. Automotive aesthetic designers play a pivotal role in the creation of a successful product. To ensure a professional design, an established aesthetic design team was chosen to work with the engineering team. Hitech had established a strong reputation for manufacturing high-quality niche vehicles under the brand of Superformance, as well as constructing vehicles for other car companies. An immediate issue that arises at the concept design stage is that essential customer requirements can often cause conflicts. The majority of manufacturers still test the design by creating a full-size painted model to ensure that the vehicle still meets aesthetic requirements in a real environment. The design team then undertook modifications to the clay model, working closely with the engineers to ensure that the design remained feasible.
