ABSTRACT

The dawn of the metaverse makes it the right moment to reassess Weaver's statement that electronic computing holds the key to answer Problems of Organized Complexity. Interesting to note finally is that the metaverse is not the only concept that is being used to reason about the blending of real and computed worlds. Recall that the metaverse scenarios in principle encompass all possible electronic computing applications, including those currently being used and developed within spatial planning. The metaverse scenarios can therefore obviously be employed to inform about and manage spatial processes. In terms of the metaverse scenarios, ubiquitous games (UG) are in fact a blending of virtual worlds and augmented reality, projecting a virtual world on top of the real world. According to the authors of the Metaverse Roadmap, the convergence of virtually-enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space' will only increase.
