ABSTRACT

This chapter presents two examples of assessments of dynamic performance in operational command and control situations. The first study was carried out at the command and control centre of the Swedish Air Force. The participants in the first study were officers from the Swedish Armed Forces operating in a CRC and a CAOC. The second study took place at the Swedish Armed Forces' Control and Reporting Centre (CRC) in Skane. Operators from the Swedish Armed Forces participated in both studies. In the first case, a peace support operation scenario in an operational setting constituted empirical material; in the second case, ordinary operational activities at the CRC, in Skane, were studied. In the second study, the regular system and standard operational procedures were used by the CRC operators. The operator platforms were linked in the same way as in the first study.
