ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the crossroads with companies and felt their frustrations, fears and exhaustion at what they are about to attempt. Staring at the digital ecosystem, stakeholder requirements and KPIs for a corporation can bring about apathy from the most ardent corporate manager. The key at this crucial intersection is the development of a tactical roadmap that stacks the rollout of their programs into manageable and measurable pilots based on portfolio management framework. The goal of the pilot programs is that they grow based on their success through a test, analyze, optimize and scale approach. Another important reason to recommend the pilot approach is that implementing and activating a corporate digital strategy all at once is simply too much with too high a risk of something going wrong. Great planning is essential, but it does not necessarily make every project a success.
