ABSTRACT
The scholar who works on Sterneana might, with perhaps just a hint of hubris, join Tristram Shandy in fearing that there is insufficient time or space in which to cover this material adequately. Not only is its existing bulk large and unwieldy, but its stock continues to grow with the discovery of new items, or of new ways of thinking and writing about it. The present study, therefore, has only offered one approach, or set of approaches, for how to go about doing so.
