ABSTRACT
Growing economies like India’s are projected to contribute over half of the global increase in carbon emissions over the next 25 years as a result of population increase and industrial development. With a population of around 1.3 billion people, India is the world’s third largest energy consumer. Despite this, however, a staggering 300 million citizens lack energy access, a number that is projected to increase along with electricity generation and consumption.
