ABSTRACT

As an ICOM member, I have always been proud of the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums, 1 appreciating that it is a valid base-standards document for all museums and members, wherever they are located and regardless of what their museums collect. All members of ICOM agree to obey the Code of Ethics in joining or annually renewing their membership of the organization, so that members share a basic framework of ethical principles and guidelines in their work within or for museums, wherever this is carried out.
