District 9: (Neill Blomkamp, 2009)

Everyone has human rights by the mere fact of his/her existence. We know this and we proclaim this, yet we continue to focus on our religious, gender, ethnic, and political differences as the basis for denying certain people human rights. District 9 takes this one step further and asks what it means to be a “human” and whether only humans should have “human rights.”
