ABSTRACT

Political violence in Central America and South America in the 1980s was epidemic. In Guatemala an estimated 200,000 people were killed, the vast majority indigenous people, while in El Salvador this number was approximately 75,000. The Southern Cone countries in South America experienced massive levels of political violence as well. Given this, perhaps it is only appropriate that the location of the following film is indeterminate. All the viewer can figure out is that it is set in a Latin American country that is engulfed in a brutal civil war.
