ABSTRACT
In order to protect its own national security, Israel has built a security wall around much of the Occupied Territories. For many Palestinians this has had severe consequences, separating families and preventing people from living and farming on ancestral lands. This action not only constitutes a violation of the laws of war in the sense that it has had a detrimental effect on civilian populations, but it represents a violation of international human rights standards as well.
