ABSTRACT
The most important human rights treaty for young people is the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Recognizing the unique vulnerability of children, the treaty provides a litany of rights and human rights protection. There are only two countries—Somalia and the United States—that have not signed and ratified the CRC. Thus, one might naturally conclude from all this that children's human rights are well protected. Unfortunately, the truth is just the opposite of this.
