ABSTRACT

Public Sector Consulting is the aggregate of all professional services provided to governmental organizations as a part of a country's overall economy. The Public Sector constituency is made up of all persons in the country; the purpose of the Public Sector is to provide for the general public. United States companies with US Public Sector business must be aware of and comply with applicable export regulations and laws. Further, companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise and IBM in the Public Sector do provide services to other countries. In the US, the Public Sectors/governmental bodies are built from the local (town/city) to county to state to federal levels. The Public Sector consultant/contractor must identify client needs and develop business largely via 'the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Process'. The client requirement elements are presented in what is known as a Request for Proposal (RFP) that is 'issued' by the Public Sector clients.
