ABSTRACT

This chapter is presented in the form of a theatre play, as an attempt to build a continuous history through the different territories the authors have worked at during the last years in Santiago de Chile. They believe that the deficiencies of those trying to put up this collective reflection can be compensated by certain dramatism, together with a fictional narrative continuity. The chapter proposes to reflect on the places where the authors have settled in during their journey of exploring contesting territories of engagements hoping to highlight the different logics and machinations of the times. Making Especulopolis visible the chapter focuses on to contribute to making visible the paradoxes of neoliberalism in shaping city spaces and the complicit nature of architecture in its silent dimension. Neoliberalism has permitted that certain sectors of the society attain very high degrees of wealth.
