ABSTRACT

One of the most unknown factors in future scenarios on how to feed the world is the food practices of youth in India. As the country is experiencing a ‘Green Revolution fatigue’ with stagnant yields and falling water tables (Rowden 2011: 11), the population is expected to rise from 1.3 billion to 1.7 billion by 2065 (United Nations Population Division 2012). These trends are accompanied by a crucial question: what will be the future level of meat consumption in this country?
