ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on a journey that starts with the creation theology of Pedro Trigo, continuing with the critical theology of Juan Luis Segundo, the SOTER Conference in Brazil in 1999, the ecotheology of Leonardo Boff and finishing with the Regional Theological Conferences in 2011, in Chile. The dialogue between science and theology has certainly taken some critical approaches, especially in Pedro Trigo's work. The 1999 SOTER conference was a privileged moment of the practice of dialogue between Latin American theology and various sciences. Since then, there has been a growing reflection in liberation theology in Latin America, in particular in relation to its dialogue partners. The chapter also focuses on two more issues: firstly, the gradual disappearance of the difference between human beings and other living beings, and secondly, probably most importantly, the problem of natural evil, as lucidly presented by Eduardo Rodrigues da Cruz.
