ABSTRACT

Many STEM-related issues, such as global health, technology development, and climate change, have significant impact on human society (Leach et al., 2005; Lubchenco, 1998; NGSS Lead States, 2013). Consequently, it is important that we extend our understanding of how STEM teachers can prepare students to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to better address and solve many of these issues that affect human populations, or what I will refer to as humancentered issues.
