ABSTRACT
Water law in India is a relatively old and complex area of law. The long-standing focus on regulating access to, and control over, water reflects its importance for human survival, livelihoods and economic growth. At the same time, these different dimensions have often been addressed separately, resulting in a composite structure that is difficult to comprehend as a single comprehensive framework.
