ABSTRACT

This study has shown how of a group of people from Kaal, Yucatán, live their lives across borders, and do so despite the costs and risks. As such, it is a contribution to a growing body of literature that takes seriously the role of migrants and other workers as important transnational actors. It also offers a perspective that views migrants’ agendas as not only shaped by structural forces but also as having the potential to transform the social arenas in which they operate.
