ABSTRACT

All staff members using data within a school district need to be empowered and supported in using that data correctly, easily, and for most cases in which data can be an asset. This chapter contains strategies most important to multifaceted process, as well as strategies frequently neglected by educator leaders. By employing each of these strategies, one can maximize their data users' chances of making data work for them and the students they serve. When staff members learn to use data while looking at data that is fictional or not related to them, they are less engaged in the learning process. When staff members learn to use a data system to generate reports of data that is fictional or not related to them, they are less engaged in the learning process. A site's data use is an evolving process. Establishing a sense of urgency is vital to launching school-wide or district-wide change.
