ABSTRACT
Nadezhda Azhgikhina , author and women’s activist, lives in Moscow, holds a Ph.D. in Journalism, teaches at Moscow State University, and has taught courses in gender and the media at various European and U.S. universities. Azhgikhina is Executive Secretary of the Russian Union of Journalists and Vice President of the European Federation of Journalists; has published as a columnist in Ogonyok, Nezavisimaya Gazeta , and Novyi Vtornik Weekly ; and is editor of fifteen books and article collections.
