ABSTRACT
The evocative nature of scent provokes feeling, brings back memories and stimulates creativity. Examination of myAlice 3.0: An Alternative Wonderlandexhibition and its accompanying workshops demonstrates that it also has the power to change our perceptions of art. Scent contextualizes. It also forms a unique connection between the artist and viewing audience by adding an extra layer of meaning and creating a shared sensory experience. This chapter describes how scent contributed to the creation and to the desired effect of certain pieces forAlice 3.0. It will also address the difficulties faced when curating such work.
