ABSTRACT

Anxiety disorders are the most common childhood psychiatric disorder, yet often remain untreated (Kendall et al., 2010). Childhood prevalence rates for anxiety disorders range from 5% to 20% of youth (Nevo et al., 2014). The literature indicates high rates of both homotypic (co-occurring with other internalizing disorders such as depression) and heterotypic comorbidity (co-occurring with external disorders such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder [ADHD] or oppositional defiant disorder [ODD]; Kendall et al., 2010; Nowrouzi, Manassis, Jones, Bobinski, & Mushquah, 2015).
