ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a rationale for and creative approaches to developing place knowledge from local to global scales. It outlines formal and informal approaches to learning locational knowledge using activities to adapt for the youngest to oldest primary children. Teaching and learning locational knowledge should be enjoyable, but it is vital to understand its importance to us. It is about more than just naming and locating countries and capital cities.
