ABSTRACT

The main thrust of this volume has been the challenges that the contemporary expert society creates for its incumbents in terms of the need to create some kind of order among an increasing amount of more or less self-claimed experts. How do actors navigate among these experts and how do they create order among them? The foregoing chapters have provided a number of different examples of such organizing attempts aiming at (but mostly only partially succeeding in) creating order. In this fi nal chapter, we pull together some of the lessons learned across these organizing attempts taking place on different arenas for organizing.
