ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with claims for physical damage to property owned by the claimant. Movable property typically affected by an oil spill may include fishing gear, fishing boats and
other vessels ranging from small pleasure craft to large merchant ships. Contaminated fishing nets often require replacement. In some cases oil slicks have enveloped large commercial vessels, and the cost of removing the oil from their hulls has been a significant item.
