ABSTRACT

Because of their high concentrations of companies, business parks are conducive to the implementation of collaborative approaches that overcome some of the hurdles faced by individual companies. But, although synergy looks good on paper, spontaneous cooperation between companies is still limited, and it is often useful to call upon a third party to take on the role of ‘connector’. A connector can strengthen regional networks between suppliers and clients, help to strengthen infrastructure, and generally assist in creating a more proactive, sustainable industrial dynamic. Local or regional governments are in a perfect position to provide such a service.
