ABSTRACT

A 13-year-old female of mixed Chinese-Filipino-Native Hawaiian ethnicity was admitted to the inpatient unit with a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa and clear evidence of malnutrition and cachexia, including a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 12 and bradycardia. There was limited weight gain and limited overall progress in the hospital, in part because the family did not consistently follow through with the eating plan.
