ABSTRACT
In the summer of 2013 I had the opportunity to participate in two international forums on green design involving sustainability and discussions about urbanism and rural development worldwide. From the discussions it seems as though there is no clear idea of what green design is. Everyone talks about green design sustainability and agrees that it is critically important, but no one is sure how it should be done, who should be responsible, or how to measure its effectiveness.
