ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the impact of culture on entrepreneurship and addresses the answer for following questions What does this exciting theoretical framework combined with what reader know about entrepreneurial culture mean for practitioners? How can reader go about fostering a local culture for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship? The Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute provide an important source of national-level data. Sub-national research in Japan also confirms the importance of local culture on entrepreneurship in cities as well. The research found that the correlation between perceived entrepreneurial culture and actual entrepreneurship rates was much stronger in rural than in urban areas. In the emerging entrepreneurship literature on culture, there is a paucity of theoretical work that elucidates the processes through which culture affects the local entrepreneurial process. The approach focuses on strengthening the power of entrepreneurship at the regional or local level. In general, the research on communities and entrepreneurship is in its infancy.
