ABSTRACT

This General Motors research was published originally in the Journal of Applied Psychology (Miner 1977a). It represents the most definitive evidence on the effects of race and gender differences on motivation to manage. Thus it takes up where Chapter 4 left off. Further research and discussion on diversity issues may be found in Miner (1977b) and Miner (1993). Eagly, Karau, Miner, and Johnson (1994) contains a meta-analysis of the Miner Sentence Completion Scale (MSCS) research on gender.
