ABSTRACT

Relationability' as an essential feature for the protection of patients' rights from a legal point of view, the protection of patients is the result of a multi-faceted activity. The implementation of relationability allows the dignity, equality and autonomy of patients to be protected. Promoting equality means developing a culture where each individual receives fair and equal treatment in all aspects of their care. The objectives of a healthcare institution include encouraging a certain degree of relationability between different users within the public spaces of the hospital, and planning and controlling the degree of interface between different user categories, and then it is beneficial to focus on some topics and criteria that can support the design. The ring form of Santa Maria Nuova's integration core corresponds to high relationability in the same spaces, whereas the linear integration core of Montepulciano corresponds to different degrees of relationability in the same spaces.
