ABSTRACT

Figure 6 shows the estimated rates of uninsured persons currently receiving Medicaid and other public health services and the rates of persons currently with private health insurance through an employer or their own individual insurance by race. As Figure 6 shows, Hispanic, African American, and Native American=Alaskan Natives have the highest rates of uninsured persons and those receiving care through Medicaid and other public health services. This generally means they have the lowest incomes, highest unemployment, and the most jobs with little or no health insurance benefits.
