ABSTRACT
In this chapter, chemical and biological health hazards will be considered – other forms of health hazard will be covered in Chapter 14.
Risk assessment is not only concerned with injuries in the workplace but also needs to consider the possibility of occupational ill-health. Health risks fall into the following four categories:
Xu chemical (e.g. paint solvents, exhaust fumes); Xu biological (e.g. bacteria, pathogens); Xu physical (e.g. noise, vibrations); Xu psychological (e.g. occupational stress).
